BIO

Originally hailing from the classic city streets of Athens, GA, Shank cut his teeth in her many hallowed halls and dingy beer joints. Crafting his original music using a blend of folk-rock, gonzo honky-tonk and bluesy-psychadelia, Shank pours his soul out to all who’ll listen.

As well as his solo career, he plays Bucket, Percussion, Guitar and Vocals for the self branded ‘Beach Punk’ power 3 piece “The Courtyard Saints” with Mike Whitty (Thompson Twins, Pale Blue Dot) and John Mark Turner (Blues Old Stand, Wildlife Specials), and in the heavily Hip-Hop influenced “Foaming Heads” with “Madahoochi” co-founders Scott Rockwood and Shawn Hartung.

Shank’s self-titled debut was released in 1999 and his single “Bourbon Jim” was featured on Ghostmeat Records “Athfest 2002” compilation. 2013 saw ‘The Saints’ in the studio with grammy-nominated producer Andrija Tokic at the helm for their unabashedly lo-fi debut album “Sunshine State.”

Shank has shared the stage with the likes of Sam Bush, Buddy Miles, Duke Bardwell, and Geoff Achison to name a few. He currently calls East TN home and is working on a new record.
